Written by Sondra Wilson on 2/20/2025 following Rob Sand’s Wake Up the Watchdog event at Iowa State University. The Watchdog Act is named in honor of Rob Sand due to the bold, crucial work he has done as State Auditor.
The premise of The Watchdog Act is simple: to repeal what Rob has called “the most pro-corruption bill in Iowa history”, SF-478.
Furthermore, the Act will mandate an amendment to the Iowa Constitution be made to ensure the role of State Auditor is safeguarded against similar corrupt acts from occurring in the future.
