In 2011, while documenting alongside multiple wilderness skills experts in California, Sondra Wilson invented and began developing the Wild Living Skills App. This revolutionary new piece of technology that is in-the-making which will soon enable people to:

The Wild Living Skills App™ will benefit western states in preventing wildfires while simultaneously creating a production-based, equitable local economies. Documentation crews shall be hired to film alongside wild living skills experts around the world while prioritizing working with and lifting up indigenous teachers. By lifting up indigenous teachers and bringing much needed money toward those who still possess ancient cultural knowledge, we shall thereby assist in helping those communities in recovering their ways of life that were wrongfully taken from them. We cannot change the past, but we can learn from it and treat others as we would like to be treated today. The Wild Living Skills App provides us with that opportunity while at the same time involving young people in assembling database entries that will bring the app to life. Although other plant identification apps do exist, this piece of technology takes biological identification much further, and adds cultural and ethical resource acquisition components other apps lack.
