2018-2023: When I returned to Iowa, State officials defamed and enacted rights violations against transgender people
by Sondra Wilson. Posted 8/7/24. Notice that my Amended Petition has not been certified as a class action; I recently requested the Court to certify it as a class action.
After originally filing a petition to commence the lawsuit on February 8, on July 23 I filed this much more in-depthAmended Petition. On July 26 the State filed a this motion to dismiss, and on August 5 I filed this resistance. There are several parts to the lawsuit. The class action part is for transgender Iowans who were:
a.) Harmed by Kim Reynolds’ multiple instances of defamation against transgender people, and
b.) Harmed by the State’s passing of “HF766 Div XX”, a bill which cut off access to medically-necessary procedures for transgender Iowans.
Soon the court will schedule a hearing to determine whether or not it will be certified as a class action. I am very grateful to We Are Iowa Channel 5 News! News anchor Alex Fulton, whointerviewed me on July 20about this part of the lawsuit! They did get an error in their article – their article says coverage was denied for “two years”, but it was four. I have contacted the news station, and will delete this notice once I notice their article has been corrected.
Requested CEASE AND DESIST order for STATE and KIM REYNOLDS to take no further action toward eroding legal protections for transgender Iowans, including acts of defamation by Kim:
Here is a brief excerpt from the lawsuit – some of the demands I have made:
“I hope I’m helping to interrupt the other terrible agenda from that alternate timeline some people have been trying to make happen! In fact I hope that other timeline just doesn’t exist at all anymore. Screw that timeline! All Iowansneed this lawsuit whether they realize it or not! United We Stand!” – Sondra, with related GIF I totally feel:
