Without any indication anyone was upset with me, I was barred from the property by President and Vice President of Reliable Street due to complaints they alleged that they had received with regards to my behavior. I was not told the nature of the complaints, except that I was accused of “violating a woman’s space” and that “more than one person complained”. After days contemplating what I may have done which caused someone(s) to feel violated, I could think of nothing. I came to the conclusion that either:
I was being gaslighted;
or someone had lied about me.
I honestly believe someone(s) “felt uncomfortable around me” (presumably in relation to me being a transgender woman), but conveyed their feelings to others as if I had violated them. Later in this timeline I will show irrefutable evidence that I was slandered.
Discrimination by Reliable Street Inc. and Lockwood Cafe’s management:
I firmly believe that Reliable Street’s President and Vice President handled the complaints wrongly, and in a discriminatory manner. They may not have consciously discriminated against me, but discrimination did occur – here is why:
A non-transgender woman complained to them that I had “violated her space”.
I was not told what I was accused of.
Without asking me any questions, Board Members assumed I was guilty, and barred me from the property.
Board Members violated our agreement, and did not offer to compensate me for the ~5 months of labor I had just performed.
Board Members judged me as guilty based on a typical political attack which is used against transgender women: “violating women’s’ spaces”.
Board Members ought to have:
Asked me about the situation – whatever it was.
Informed me about what I was accused of, and given me the opportunity to respond or take corrective action (there was no corrective action to be taken; as you will see, I was slandered).
Instead – after performing approximately 5 months of labor – I was barred from the property, and not even offered to be compensated for my work. I would never have performed those months of labor had I known they were going to suddenly kick me off the property with no explanation.
