Endorsement Letters

Letter #1 – U.S. Army Veteran and Wilderness Survival Expert Richard Lonewolf

Lonewolf and I met in spring 2003 in Tehachapi, California, at which point I was blessed to be invited to stay with his family in Twin Oaks. Learning how to survive among the harsh deserts of the high Sierras is something I became passionate about. Additionally, the culturally immersive experience to begin to learn about Lonewolf’s Cherokee/Lakota/Northern Cheyenne religious and world views, language, history, traditional songs, and to participate in ceremonial sweat lodges was a humbling and beautiful life experience.

Although raised a boy in Nevada, Iowa, without medical treatment I developed breasts and other typically-female physical (and psychological/mental-emotional) characteristics: the term for this is intersex. Although this brought me severe shame and fear throughout high school – especially because I was trying to make sense of it through the Christian lens through which I was raised within – Lonewolf informed me that to his people I would be called a Winyanktehca – or two-spirit. Please know that since that time I have sought medical intervention to transition to female, as this is where I always felt more mentally and emotionally inclined. My pronouns, therefore, are she/her.

Endorsement Letter from TICOR – after “Grandpa Bill” passed away on April 28, 2024 (obituary), his partner, Reverend “TICOR” Fuller wrote this endorsement letter in part to authenticate the letter that Bill wrote in 2013.

In Spring 2022 I was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society,: therefore in addition to Wild Willpower’s Code of Ethics, I also adhere to Phi Theta Kappa’s Code of Ethics and have taken the following Oath: “I adhere to the moral standards of the Society. Therefore, I solemnly promise to uphold the standards of Phi Theta Kappa, and to keep this object and aim in my mind, and I pledge to support my fellow members and promise to aid them in all worthy endeavors.” Need a new pane of glass for my certificate 🙁
