PACs may fund Peaceable Assemblies operating in accordance with the Preamble and the First Amendment:
Some people may try to argue that PACs can only fund candidates, but that is simply not true (unconstitutional codes, regulations, etc. not withstanding). For example, if corporations may give money to campaigns, and doing so is protected by the First Amendment (see Buckley v. Valeo or Citizen’s United), then sure as shit We the People may lawfully fund grassroots campaigns which benefit the common good, in the same manner.
Important detail: While some may argue that they can use campaign financing to fund groups that perform hate speech, or openly call for the violation of the rights of others, those people need to re-read The Preamble of the U.S. Constitution, because frankly they are absolutely wrong. Within the Preamble, We the People pledged to “promote the general welfare and mutual defense” of one another. If they are directly violating those things, they may not latch onto and claim our First Amendment and call it their own.
Structure
Each campaign is run by a separate group of individuals, organized as “Peaceable Assemblies of Civilians”, who may be offered political campaign contributions in order to accomplish their missions. Recall that campaign contributions given to WWWP may be “earmarked”, at the request of the contributor, in order to restrict funds so they are only used on that campaign. However, 10% of all campaign contributions go toward Wild Willpower PAC’s discretionary fund. New campaigns are added from time to time. Without further ado, here are the campaigns each Peaceable Assembly is working on:
Student Reformationists –fostered into creation by WWP’s founder (an entrepreneurship major specializing in social entrepreneurship), the Iowa State University chapter is currently the only chapter that exists.
Although we do not have a focus group established (e.g. people who have stepped forward informing Wild Willpower PAC they want to help, and funders who want to see it happen) WWP’s following two publicly-accessible resources have been in development for years:
Transform Iowa’s overly-complex court rules into simple step-by-step instructions. Instructions will include hyperlinks to legal term definitions found inside the self-help website, and templates for petitions, various types of motions, and links to forms, as found on various government website. Note that Iowa’s Judicial Branch only has some court forms on it’s website, which isn’t sufficient for filing and maintaining a lawsuit.
Revitalize America! Campaign
The Revitalize America! Campaign is currently on the backburner, but will start up as soon as these other endeavors move forward.
